Northwest Brewer's Festival

Yesterday we went to the nw brewer's festival in Kenmore. Who knew there were so many different kinds of beer?! There were lots and lots of brewers from all over washington and oregon and not just beer but cider and wine too. There was also a rootbeer garden for the kids!
It was held at saint edward state park. Beautiful park on the north end of lake washington with a huge building that once housed a catholic seminary.
I was actually glad it was overcast and cool as the area in the park where they held the festival was in a big open field with no shade.
Each person got a tasting cup and six tokens with the price of admission. I was designated driver so I didn't use all my tokens. I tasted a couple of beers and one cider. Ate some sad excuse for pad thai and sampled some really nice smoked cheese. There was live music, the first band was fun but the second, um not so much...young guys playing what sounded like punk, I don't know, seemed like an odd choice for the event.
We hung around for 5 or 6 hours then stopped at Catfish Corner in Kent for dinner. I tasted a small piece of catfish, ate a hushpuppy and a pile of deep fried okra. It was pretty good!
I'm tired and a little sore though from all the walking and standing-there was no place to sit except on the ground.
