Didn't get the job at Apple-unemployment benefits all gone and no more extensions. Bleah...
Been doing some sewing lately, making tote bags. It's a really simple pattern, they are even reversible! I made a few from some pieces of a quilt top my mother-in-law was working on before she passed away. Those are going to my sisters-in-law. Think they will like them and it's a nice reminder of mom.
I made homemade donuts today. The plain kind, not the raised ones. Love my deep fat fryer! They turned out good but I over-cooked some of them. Just sprinkled them with cinnamon and suger. Next time I'm making glaze.
Bought our tickets for Highland Games online. Got them in the mail 2 days later! That was fast! Can't wait to go! We will be going saturday the 31st.
My mom finally made an appointment with a Dr! She is scheduled to go on the 16th. I'm going with her for moral support. And to make sure she goes!! She can't hardly walk or stand for any length of time anymore. Too much pain in her right hip and her lower back. I won't be surprised if she has a fracture in her pelvis somewhere. I'm so frustrated that she has waited so long to see a dr. I guess she had to get to the end of her rope...She's been afraid that all they were going to tell her was that she needed to lose weight-well she does! She is barely 5 feet tall and probably weighs 250! But I really think there is something serious going on-just don't know if it's arthritis, osteoporosis, fracture or a combination of all 3. It's so frustrating dealing with someone who is so stubborn and unreasonable sometimes! But at least she is finally going. The pain is interfering with her life and if that's what it takes to get her to the dr than that's what it takes.
My mom was in a car accident when she was about 8 months pregnant with me. She was riding in the back seat, it was the '50's, no seat belts in the car. When the impact happened she was thrown forward, her belly (with me in it) smashed into the back of the drivers seat and she ended up on the floor of the car between the front and back seats. When the paramedics came she realized she couldn't get up, they realized she was pregnant and told her not to move. Her pelvis was fractured. She tells me that the pain she has now is very similar to the pain she had when her pelvis was healing after the car accident.
