a few updates

ok so i got another position within davita-i will be working as an admin assistant in the federal way offices. i actually had my first day on the job last tuesday-it was alright-feels like it will be a glorified mailroom position...but its a job and i did get a raise of just under 30 cents an hour. i was disappointed to find i wont have my own desk, makes me feel like a temp or something. there arent even any lockers for me to put my coat or purse in...i can lock up my purse at the reception desk but that is on the second floor and the mailroom (where i will be spending at least half of my day) is on the first floor. i dont understand it-we all had our own desks in the mailroom in tacoma. and then the way things are arranged in the mailroom in federal way the tables are too high to sit at so you have to stand all day to open and sort the mail! and there are no mats to stand on! i am absolutely talking to my boss about that...but it is a beautiful building and i can park on site (no more riding the link) and surprisingly it only took me 20 minutes or so to get there! coming home was another story but i will figure out some different routes as time goes on. right now i am working in federal way tues and thurs and mon wed fri in tacoma. i will have that schedule until sept 6th. on sept 9th i will be full time in federal way. i am supposed to get my pay raise in the middle of august.
we have started working back out at the spanaway property. i pulled down alot of ceiling tiles and insulation on thursday (had the day off) and will be back out there today to continue that. its nasty, the insulation is full of rat pee and droppings and we found a nest of black ants in some of it too!! and no matter where you stand that crap falls on you :( i cant wait till we get it all down tho. we are trying to get the back 2 bedrooms and the 2nd bathroom livable so we can move in and get this house on the market. i dont want to live in a construction zone but we may have to now that we are down to one income...and we may still lose it all and be living out of my van soon who knows lol!!!

It's been a busy week-Carl found out he is losing his job at the end of June and I found out I'm losing mine in Sept...Carl is a self employed delivery driver-he delivers Amway. Amway is closing their distribution center here in Washington and going with Fed-ex to deliver to their customers instead of using sub-contractors. So of course he will not be eligible for unemployment as he wasn't paying into it. My company is doing away with my position. There are 5 of us on my team that will be affected. We have been told that we can try to find other positions within the company  but if we can't they are offering us a pretty nice severance package, 2 weeks pay plus another week for each year we have worked there. We can also cash out our PTO and apply for unemployment. But there are 3 of us living here (my sister in law lives with us, she has been unemployed for almost 2 years) and we sure as heck aren't going to make it on my income/unemployment. So I am looking for another position within the company but its not looking good right now-hoping something will open that I qualify for soon.

My husband brought me a present a couple of weeks ago...
He went to a friends house to pick up some vintage bicycle parts and when he got home he asked me to come out to the truck and help him unload a couple of bikes. I walk out the door and there she is in the front seat! I said "what is that?!" Apparently he has been planning on getting me a dog for awhile ( I had no idea) Our friends rescued her from Puerto Rico-she was a stray. They call them "street dogs" there I guess. Anyway they got her here, got her all her rabies shots etc and then their other dog doesn't like her and is always kind of attacking her. They had sold her to someone else at one point but they also had other animals that wouldn't be nice to her either so they gave her back after only a week of having her. So Carl is up there and she took to him right away, spent the whole time in his lap pretty much, so he offered to take her. They called her Freda but I renamed her Coco. She is about 7 months old and completely trained. She even rings a bell when she want to go outside! As far as we can tell she is Italian Greyhound and Chihuahua mix. She is the sweetest thing and has even begun to win over our mean and evil cat!! Be prepared for lots more pics lol!
