Carl has recently been watching youtube videos of different folks building and playing cigar box guitars. If you've never seen or heard one you should check it out! They only have 3 strings and sound like nothing I've ever heard before. Really really cool!
So he wanted to find some cigar boxes to play around with and I knew there was a cigar lounge on 72nd out here in Tacoma. (I drive by it all the time, that's the only reason I knew it existed, btw :p
We went there this morning and asked it they had any empty cigar boxes. The guy at the counter said yes and took us in the back room where there was a small shelving unit in the center that had lots of them he said we could go through and they only cost us $1.00 each! So we bought 6. We both came out of there with headaches though-the place was full of guys smoking cigars-go figure, lol.
Kyle is doing better every day since his surgery on Tuesday. Had ACL repair on his right knee. Torn tendon repaired, ligaments and a few other things done. He is wearing a brace that goes from mid-thigh to his ankle and can't take it off for a few more days. We got to loosen the ace bandage today and he takes the brace off when he is sitting on the couch. Got to keep the leg elevated too. He isn't sleeping too well wearing that brace but he can't risk bending the knee right now. So he dozes off on the couch throughout the day. Meds make him sleepy too I think.
The twins graduate from culinary school this Sunday. They are having the graduation at the school which is in Tukwila, from 10am to noon. Should be fun.

Mead tasting
Yesterday afternoon Carl and I met Jericho and Mikey at 99 Bottles in Federal Way for a mead tasting event. It was only $2.50 per person and we sampled 4 different meads. I have to say I'm not a huge fan of mead, I find it way too sweet most of the time. The ones we tried yesterday however were really really good! We started with a dry one, then tried the semi-dry, then a semi-sweet and the sweetest one was last. The dry mead reminded me of chardonney, the sweet one was similar to a riesling. The last one was actually a raspberry mead and was really nice. The women that served us was the mead-maker and she was very informative and willing to share her knowledge of mead-making. The kids had invited another couple, Joelle and her husband Chris, to join us. They make their own beer and mead, so were taking notes as they tasted. The mead is made by Sky River Meadery and they do sell it at 99 bottles. After we finished tasting we went next door to Blue Fish for sushi. Carl has never had sushi before and he actually only ate the cooked stuff, hehe. I used to really love sushi and I did enjoy eating it again! Hmmm maybe I should consider becoming pescitarian...

Ok trying blogspot again! I think I can copy and paste my blogs from yahoo but maybe I will try that later.
Had another job interview on Thursday. It ended up being at a temp agency in Auburn but the job I applied for is a direct hire position in Fife for a small property management company. It's full time, 8 to 5 and pays between 12 and 13 dollars an hour. Should hear back on Monday.
Carl is building me a greenhouse! It's going to be about 8' x 16' and will be in the back yard near the back right corner of our house. We are going to try an aquaponics system. If you aren't familiar with that it is hydroponics with fish. Hydroponics is growing plants in water-no soil. Aquaponics you have fish which fertilize the water that you pump through to your plants and if you use say Tilapia in your fish tank you can eat your fish as well as your veggies! We have a large tank we are planning on using for the fish and have been shopping around at hardware stores and local hydroponics places, pricing things out and learning lots. Carl is a big fan of youtube :)
We will be taking pictures of our progress and I promise to post them here.
